Description
Administrators should use this setting to control when a computer disconnects an inactive SMB session. If client activity resumes, the session is automatically reestablished. This protects critical and sensitive network data from exposure to unauthorized personnel with physical access to the computer.

Analyze the system using the Security Configuration and Analysis snap-in. Expand the Security Configuration and Analysis tree view.

Navigate to Local Policies -> Security Options.

If the value for “Microsoft Network Server: Amount of idle time required before suspending a session” is not set to ”15" minutes or less, then this is a finding.

The policy referenced configures the following registry value:
